IPOPI attends EFCNI event at EU Parliament

IPOPI has been collaborating for a number of years with the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI). Most recently IPOPI supported the EFCNI European Standards of Care for Newborn Health. It was with great pleasure that Mrs Martine Pergent, IPOPI’s President and Mr Johan Prevot, IPOPI’s Executive Director attended the EFCNI Workshop at the EU Parliament on November 28 entitled “Mission: possible – Take responsibility for newborn health in Europe”. The workshop was hosted by Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Prof Dr Angelika Niebler and MEP Dr Peter Liese and provided a very fitting platform for the official launch of the standards and a Call to Action for Newborn Health in Europe.

Newborn screening is an extremely important topic that IPOPI wholeheartedly supports. This EFCNI initiative calls for improvement and harmonisation of neonatal care within Europe.
