World PI Week 2025: See the Unseen
From April 22–29, World PI Week 2025 delivered a powerful call to action: “See the unseen: unite to uncover the true stories behind primary immunodeficiencies.” The campaign highlighted real people, real stories, and real progress, urging the world to look beyond what is visible and recognise the daily realities faced by those living with Primary Immunodeficiencies (PIDs).
Global Action Through the IPOPI NMO Support Programme
Across the globe, 40 National Member Organisations (NMOs) launched innovative awareness initiatives — from educational conferences for healthcare professionals and patients to awareness podcasts, patient experience surveys, short video testimonies, and even a walk in the dark. These diverse efforts helped bring visibility to the often-overlooked challenges of living with a PID.
IPOPI sincerely thanks Grifols and Takeda for their essential support. Without their contribution, World PI Week on a global scale would not be possible.
A Moment of Unity
On April 22 at 1 PM CET, IPOPI and its members united for a Global Social Media Flash Mob, inviting the world to answer: What needs to be seen? Participants around the world shared powerful words, messages, and reflections to spotlight the unseen aspects of PIDs.
In a symbolic video, the IPOPI Board and Staff invited everyone to remove their blindfolds — both literally and figuratively — to truly see the daily realities faced by the community behind these rare conditions.
Thank You, and What’s Next
We thank all IPOPI members who contributed stories and photos to make this campaign so impactful and grounded in real experiences.
Although the week has ended, our mission continues. Let’s keep uncovering the unseen, every day.
