From Visibility to Action: World PI Week 2026
The See the Unseen campaign from last year brought Primary Immunodeficiencies (PIDs) into the light and highlighted the hidden challenges faced by this community. Yet too many people are still waiting: for a diagnosis, for appropriate treatment, for access to the care and support they need.
Thus, on this year’s campaign, we want to turn visibility into action and make a joint call out for change, through the 2026 World PI Week theme: “We Can’t Wait: Calling for early diagnosis and timely treatment and support”
How You Can Take Action
- Create a local initiative: organise a PID walk, host a hospital talk, plan a community webinar, launch a social media campaign, or partner with local media to spotlight PIDs in your country.
- Engage policymakers: send a letter, request a meeting, and present clear recommendations to improve diagnosis and treatment access.
- Mobilise healthcare professionals: organise an educational session for clinicians, general practitioners, nurses, and relevant specialities to strengthen PID care.
- Share lived experience: patients and families can speak publicly, publish their stories, or participate in interviews to drive change.
- Use and share campaign resources: amplify materials from the World PI Week website to strengthen your impact.
We encourage you to visit the World PI Week website, where you’ll find banners, a messaging document, infographics, and other valuable resources to help you spread the word.
This is our moment to close the gap between knowing and doing, from visibility to action, and together build a better future for patients with primary immunodeficiencies around the world!
