US – IDF conference and Inclusion Initiative
This free four-day conference brougt together the entire PI community (patients, caregivers, and clinicians) for four days of connection, learning, and networking in a fully engaging virtual environment. Sessions from world-class immunologists, an entire day dedicated to youth programming, and compelling panel discussions are just a few of the highlights.
While most programming was conducted in English, more than a dozen sessions were interpreted or translated into Spanish for non-English-speaking participants. There was no cost to attend, but registration was required. More information, visit www.primaryimmune.org/conference.
Outreach and Inclusion Initiative launched by Immune Deficiency Foundation
As part of its outreach and inclusion initiatives, the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) is helping to empower multilingual patients by offering a growing number of resources in Spanish. Recently, IDF increased their offerings to include:
- SCID Compass Website fully translated into Spanish
- Spanish Language Resources at Primary Immune.org
- Their first-ever forum in Spanish recorded on May 18
“When it comes to the diagnosis and treatment of primary immunodeficiencies, I’m just thrilled that we’re taking steps to make sure that everyone has a seat at the table,” said Ashley Ferreira, Program Manager for Diversity and Inclusion at IDF.
