Screen4Rare gets ready for a busy 2024
Screen4Rare, the stakeholder initiative launched by the International Patient Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies (IPOPI), the European Society for Immunodeficiencies (ESID) and the International Society for Neonatal Screening (ISNS), is getting ready for a very busy year!
Ahead of International Neonatal Screening Day, June 28, Screen4Rare relaunched the campaign and started working towards a successful 2024 campaign. Materials and new resources are being developed so stakeholders can join the international campaign and raise awareness about the importance of neonatal screening for treatable rare disorders. For IPOPI national member organisations it will be the perfect occasion to draw attention towards how key screening at birth for severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) is and how babies affected can have their lives saved by a swift diagnosis and early treatment. There is plenty of work ahead in 2024 at the European level for Screen4Rare! With the European elections earmarking the political agenda of the main EU institutions, Screen4Rare will be working with its contacts at the European level so as to continue advocating for equitable access to neonatal screening in the European Union. More information on the planned activities will be shared in due time.
