Romania – WPIW with balloon and PID Patients gathering

World Primary Immunodeficiencies Week (WPIW) was opened in Romania at the Timisoara Hospital “Louis Turcanu”. The event was supervised by Prof Serban and Dr Bataneant and had the support of JMF-Romania. Patients and their families, medical staff and students got together to launch colorful balloons in the morning sky. The event got the attention of both local and national television channels with TVR Timisoara and TVR Romania airing a report about on WPIW. Two medical websites also published articles about the event www.medicalmanager.ro and www.bolirare.ro

The 2nd National Annual gathering of PID Patients took place at Zarnesti – Jud Brasov – and was possible thanks to the financial support of IPOPI. We were fortunate to have Dr Bataneant as a special guest, giving important information about PIDs. Patients and their families attended workshops about some of the conditions, we discussed social and medical issues faced by patients and welcomed three new members, three children suffering from Di’George Syndrome. Afterwards the groups visited Bran Castle, in Zarnesti.
