IPIA Launches New Mental Health Support Resource

Primary Immunodeficiency Support Ireland (IPIA) has launched a new Mental Health Support section within its online Patient Toolkit, bringing together trusted, accessible mental health resources for patients, families, and carers living with Primary Immunodeficiency (PID) in Ireland. The initiative also supports healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, in signposting patients toward existing services.

The new resource features two independent organisations offering free or low-cost mental health support across Ireland. MyMind provides counselling and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults, addressing anxiety, low mood, and stress, with both online and in-person appointments available nationwide. Jigsaw offers free mental health support specifically for young people aged 12 to 25, including one-to-one sessions as well as guidance for families. Living with a rare chronic condition like PID can bring additional emotional and psychological challenges, and IPIA hopes this resource will make it easier for the community to find the right support at the right time.

The Mental Health Support page is now live and can be accessed at ipiainfo.org/toolkit/mental-health-support.
