IPOPI welcomes Plasmatology, a scientific journal fully dedicated to plasma

IPOPI welcomes the launch of Plasmatology, an international, open access, peer-reviewed journal, which considers manuscripts on all aspects of human blood plasma and its components, from basic and preclinical research to clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic applications. All aspects related to plasma donation are also covered by the journal.

Plasmatology began publishing on March 9th, and aspires to become the scientific reference in its field.
Grifols, as part of its commitment to the scientific community, will provide the journal with an educational grant during the next two years to establish the publication as a global source for the scientific knowledge and research accomplishments in plasma science.
The publication is edited independently, with its editorial committee and director answering to publisher SAGE Publications. A longtime publisher of scientific journals covering different medical disciplines, life sciences, engineering, the humanities and other areas.

IPOPI is closely monitoring plasma supply developments and its Task Force SAFE has recently issued two statements on the need for PIDs to be a priority indication for immunoglobulins and on the Patients’ need to have sustained and continued access to their treatments.
