IPOPI joined the 3rd APSID congress

March 31, 2020

Between 8 and 9 of February IPOPI took part and supported the 3rd Scientific Congress of Asia Pacific Society for Immunodeficiencies (APSID) in the city of Chandigarh, India.

This educational meeting dedicated to primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) focused on infections, vaccination, immunomodulators, immunoglobulin replacement therapy, monoclonal antibodies, flow cytometry, genetic tests and hemopoietic stem cell transplantation. The APSID congress was a great opportunity for physicians with an interest in PIDs to learn more about recent advances in diagnosis, how to treat infections, and to better manage patient care.

Martine Pergent, IPOPI’s President, chaired a Patients’ Meeting during the APSID congress which was the highlight of the programme for the patients in attendance as it was a great opportunity for them to get together, share experiences and learn. Attendees learnt more about their conditions and how to prevent infections from the medical presenters. Psychosocial care for patients was also addressed and great overviews on latest patient advocacy efforts in India and around the world were discussed and inspired everyone.

The International Nursing Group for Immunodeficiencies (INGID) organized a nursing meeting dedicated to sharing PID patient nursing management bets practices.
