IPOPI invited to speak at RDI Conference

Johan Prevot, Executive Director of IPOPI, was invited to speak at the Rare Disease International (RDI) Conference to share IPOPI’s experience in interacting with the World Health Organization (WHO) and obtaining the inclusion of primary immunodeficiencies’ treatments and diagnostic tests on the Essential Medicines List and on the Essential In-Vitro Diagnostics List.

The RDI Conference was held online on May 19, 2020 and focussed on Universal Health Coverage and collaborating with the WHO to improve access to rare disease medicinal products. It was in the context of a session on how to improve access to medicines and diagnostic that Mr Prevot explained the experience of IPOPI in reinstating immunoglobulin replacement therapies back in the list and its success in including a series of diagnostic methods for the diagnosis of primary immunodeficiencies in the Diagnostic Lists.
