India – Latest news from IPSPI

To mark the launch of World PI Week (WPIW) 2019 IPSPI organised a PID seminar at the Maulana Azad Medical College, LN Hospital in New Delhi on the 20th of April 2019. This seminar was organised in collaboration with the Maulana Azad Medical college under the chairmanship of Prof Dr U Jhamb, HOD Pediatrics, LN Hospital in New Delhi and Rubby Chawla, founder and president of IPSPI. The speakers of the seminar were Dr Dinesh Kaul, consultant and professor of pediatrics from Sir Gangaram Hospital in New Delhi, Dr Seema Kapoor, professor of genetics from Maulana Azad Medical College, LN Hospital in New Delhi and Dr Narendera Bagri assistant professor of pediatrics and rheumatology, AIIMS in New Dehli. Beyond this great meeting IPSPI also organised a PID Walk for Awareness for WPIW 2019, in collaboration with the Asia Medical Students Association (AMSA INDIA) at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

During the past months IPSPI has also attended CME on Current Trends in Diagnosis and Management of PIDs in SSPHPGTI Noida, held a booth at the 5th International Conference on PIDs in the Leela Hotel Mumbai, collaborated and supported ORDI for Race for 7 in IGIB, CSIR in New Delhi, attended the 7th International Conference on Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases in the Leela Ambience Hotel, Gurugram, Delhi NCR and participated in ORDI Patients Advocacy Group Leaders Meeting in collaboration with Global Genes at Four Points by Sheraton.

In the coming months, the next steps for IPSPI will be to create PID awareness for medical students and doctors by conducting seminars/workshops on PID in major capital cities, such as Kolkata (West Bengal), Bhubaneswar (Odisha) and New Delhi.
