Immunodeficiency UK launches new guide for young people & their parents on Immunoglobulin Therapy

Immunodeficiency UK is excited to introduce its latest resource: Immunoglobulin Therapy – A Guide for Young People and Their Families. This comprehensive guide is designed to support young people and their families as they navigate the complexities of immunoglobulin therapy. It explains what immunoglobulin is and how it supports the immune system, along with detailed information on intravenous (IVIG) and subcutaneous (SCIG) immunoglobulin therapies, including what to expect during treatment. It also provides orientation on choosing the best treatment option based on lifestyle and medical needs.

This free booklet, developed in collaboration with immunology nurses and consultants from Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Great North Children’s Hospital, incorporates community feedback and serves as a go-to resource for young people navigating immunoglobulin therapy. It aims to empower patients and their families with knowledge and practical advice, ensuring they feel supported throughout their treatment journey. The guide is available for download, offering accessible and reliable information to those who most need it. The booklet follows the recent launch of ‘Immunoglobulin Replacement, a Guide for Younger Children’ which is available to download here.
