Immune Deficiency Foundation premieres documentary film at PI Conference

The Immune Deficiency Foundation is hosting its first in-person patient and family conference since 2019. The conference, held in Chicago, Illinois, from 20-22 June 2024 will bring together the primary immunodeficiency (PI) community for three days of connection, learning, and networking.

Attendees will have a chance to be the first individuals to view the premiere of the feature-length documentary Compromised: Life without Immunity. This live-streamed documentary will highlight the burdens and impossible decisions that individuals living with PI have to face on a day-to-day basis.

“For PI patients, virtually no part of life is unaffected by their illness. Very few people outside the rare disease community understand the scope of their challenges,” said Zach Moore, Digital Media Manager at the Immune Deficiency Foundation. “During the filming process, I had the privilege of meeting individuals and families who bravely shared their stories of both heartache and triumph. Their experiences were a poignant reminder of the devastating impact that rare disorders can have on our lives but also of the incredible strength that can be found in the face of adversity. I hope others who watch the film will see what it truly means to live with a rare disease.”

The 2024 PI Conference promises to be an exciting and educational experience for everyone in the PI community. It will be a great opportunity to connect with others who have gone through similar experiences, learn from experts in the field, and leave with new knowledge and insights.
