Highlights from the IPOPI’s 4th Global Stakeholders Summit

The 2025 IPOPI Global Stakeholders Summit took place in Estoril, Lisbon, on June 30–July 1, bringing together experts, advocates, and innovators from across the world to discuss the future of care for Primary Immunodeficiencies (PIDs) and related conditions. Hosted annually by the International Patient Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies (IPOPI), the Summit serves as a unique platform for in-depth dialogue, cross-sector collaboration, and collective action to advance PID care globally.

Building on the outcomes of last year’s edition, whose proceedings were published in Frontiers in Immunology, this year’s discussions explored cutting-edge developments at the intersection of science, technology, and patient care. Key themes included the role of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and digital health in ensuring equitable access to therapies; bridging the gap between PIDs and Secondary Immunodeficiencies (SIDs), with a particular focus on immunoglobulin supply and multidisciplinary care; and prevention strategies involving the microbiota, mental health, and ageing to improve the long-term care of patients with PID everywhere.

By fostering dialogue between clinicians, researchers, patient representatives, and industry partners, the Summit continues to identify priorities and solutions to improve outcomes for people living with PIDs worldwide. The proceedings from the 2025 Summit will be published in the coming months, ensuring that the insights and recommendations shared at the meeting reach the broader scientific and patient communities.

With continued support from our sponsors — CSL Behring, Grifols, Kedrion, and Takeda — IPOPI remains committed to driving innovation, collaboration, and progress for all those affected by primary immunodeficiencies.
