Delayed diagnosis, or even not getting a diagnosis at all, is still a common problem to many primary immunodeficiency (PID) patients. When patients get the right diagnosis it is often a shock, they are faced with new issues and questions: “How can I handle this?”, “Where can I get help?”
dsai produced a video entitled “PID diagnosis – What now?” specifically for newly diagnosed patients that approaches their feelings of helplessness, uncertainty and, overall, the concerns about their future lives.
dsai invited the Lehmann family, who has two boys with PID, for a very intimate insight on how their lives have been affected by the conditions and Dr Maria Faßhauer, from the PID medical center in Leipzig, for a medical perspective.
