First ever RECOMB webinar

Gene therapy for RAG1-SCID

IPOPI had the pleasure of participating in the organisation of the very first webinar for the RECOMB project at the end of January 2021. RECOMB is a European multi-stakeholder research consortium aiming to create a novel treatment for SCID by conducting clinical trials using gene therapy for recombination-deficient severe combined immunodeficiency (RAG-SCID). As leading partner on the work package for dissemination and exploitation, IPOPI teamed up with representatives from Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) to put together a fruitful webinar programme. The three excellent speakers, Prof Arjan Lankester, Prof Karin Pike-Overzet and Prof Frank Staal did not only introduce participants to gene therapy for RAG-SCID and how it will work for RAG1-SCID, they also gave a status report and discussed prospects of the project. The webinar was well attended with 117 registered participants from 34 countries from all over the world, the majority from Europe.
Based on feedback from the participation it was a very well appreciated webinar with a motivated audience. IPOPI hopes to organise further RECOMB webinars in the future, to ensure those interested keep up to speed with the progress of the project.
