IPOPI at EAPS Congress: Advancing Patient Engagement in Scientific Research
Johan Prevot, IPOPI’s Executive Director, joined Dr Jacques Rivière at the EAPS Congress in Lisbon during a session on “Patient Engagement in Scientific Research.” In his presentation, Johan Prevot highlighted IPOPI’s extensive experience in supporting patients’ meaningful participation in research, discussing both the challenges and opportunities in this area.
A central takeaway from his presentation was that patients should not only be recognised as experts but also empowered to participate fully, with patient organisations receiving the support needed to contribute effectively to scientific research.
The session also showcased strong representation from ERN-RITA and ESID, reflecting the growing collaboration between patient organisations, researchers, and clinical networks to improve outcomes for individuals with primary immunodeficiencies.
