Bolivia – III PID Medical Conference

On April 26-27 the National primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) Bolivian group, FIDEP, hosted a very well attended III International Conference on Primary Immunodeficiencies in the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia.

Several Bolivian physicians were in attendance to learn from national and international speakers. Dr Teresa Español (Spain), Dr Nora Segura (Argentina) and Dr Matías Oleastro (Argentina) were some of the speakers.
The Department of Medical College of Cochabamba was in attendance and committed to supporting not only future training of professionals but also to help to put PID in the political agenda, working closely with the Ministry of Health.
Medical knowledge of PIDs has increased in Bolivia, in part due to FIDEP’s work which has put medical education as a top priority to increase early diagnosis and adequate treatment. FIDEP would like to thank IPOPI for the support, Mrs Roberta Anido de Pena (IPOPI Board Member from Argentina) and Dr Teresa Español for their invaluable collaboration and Dr Nelva Guillen and Dr Natalia Nuñez Del Prado, our medical advisors, for their support and daily work.
