Beligum – BePOPI goes to the Minister

During #WorldPIWeek, BePOPI launched a campaign to sign our petition: immunoglobulins should be accessible and available for all patients. Recent medicine shortage caused severe problems for patients to access their medicines. And the Belgian government decided to deliver the medicines exclusively through a hospital pharmacy. On top of the shortage problems, patients are now facing a new set of issues since several hospitals refused to deliver the medicines causing patients to travel up to 190kms to get their life-saving medicines.

1250 signatures have been handed over to the chief of staff of Minister Vandenbroucke on 16 June. We brought the personal stories and testimonials of our patients to Brussels and they listened to the worries and obstacles our patients have to live with every day. We were promised an answer before 21 of July (our national holiday) and our fingers are crossed for good news!
