APDIP Celebrates World PI Week 2026

On April 25, APDIP hosted its Family Day at the Pousada Convento de Evora to celebrate World PI Week 2026. The event brought together patients, families, and healthcare professionals for a walk to the iconic Roman Temple, a lunch, and parallel afternoon sessions. These included the Crescer com IDP project, dedicated to young patients, as well as a medical session with an immunoallergologist covering the latest developments in PIDs, and a session with a nutritionist on the role of diet in supporting health. The gathering reflected APDIP’s ongoing commitment to building community, reducing isolation and providing support to those living with primary immunodeficiencies in Portugal.

Ricardo Pereira, APDIP president, represented Portugal in the Rare for Real video series, bringing the Portuguese patient community’s voice to a world audience. APDIP also promoted the MAPPA Survey, a collaboration project with AIP, the Italian patient association, monitoring patient pathways with PIDs and encouraging patients and caregivers across Portugal to share their experiences to inform research, clinical practice, and advocacy.
