Celebrating 50 Years of Scientific and Human Commitment: Alain Fischer’s Jubilee at Imagine Institute
IPOPI was honoured to attend the celebration of Professor Alain Fischer’s jubilee at the Imagine Institute in Paris, whose mission is to cure rare genetic diseases. The event celebrated Professor Fischer, who is a founding member of the Institute and its first director. A global pioneer in gene therapy and an iconic figure in immunology, Alain Fischer profoundly influenced the field of rare genetic diseases and continues to inspire generations of researchers and clinicians.
This emotional celebration paid tribute to his unwavering dedication to children and their families affected by rare genetic diseases, and his exceptional contributions to medical research. Professor Fischer plays an active role in the PID community, namely as a member of the IPOPI Medical Advisory Panel and as Chairman of the IRIS Scientific and Medical Council. You will also find him at IPIC2025, where he will be participating in one session related to one of his favourite topics: medical ethics.
IPOPI was proud to participate in this moving and scientific event where different international and national friends took the floor, giving inspiring talks. All united in the same mission: to advance medicine for the benefit of children around the world.
