AAPIDP Argentina: Building a Stronger Community for People Living with PID
On Saturday, November 15, AAPIDP held a Webinar on DiGeorge Syndrome on Facebook Live & YouTube. Dr Maria Natalia Tahuil and Dr Miguel Galicchio joined as speakers, explaining all the stages of the disease from birth to adulthood. Following their presentations, a panel of 2 mothers — one of a paediatric patient and one of an adult patient—shared personal experiences and offered advice to other families. The event was truly motivating, allowing families to connect, ask questions directly to the specialists, and feel supported. In just two days, the webinar reached 383 views.
On November 18, the campaign “We are looking for” was relaunched. The campaign target audience consisted of two clearly defined groups. Patients with symptoms of PID but without a diagnosis. And the other group of patients is already diagnosed with PID but not yet in contact with our association. Tailored messages were designed for each patient group, including a specific call to action. Patients saw the advertisements on social media platforms, they accessed our website through the symptoms checker, and if the symptoms are consistent with PID, they proceed to another step in which they find a form to complete with personal information to contact them afterwards. The platform also displays a map with all care centres and specialists in PIDs. This campaign last year resulted in 387 new patients.
