Promoting Early Diagnosis and Better Care in Argentina
In commemoration of World Hereditary Angioedema Day on May 15th, AAPIDP held a webinar on HAE entitled “Recognising the Symptoms Saves Lives,” broadcast via Facebook Live and YouTube. The main objective of the webinar was to raise awareness because recognising the symptoms early can save lives. The speakers were Dr Celina Franco, a pediatric immunologist, and Dr Gustavo Vijoditz, an adult immunologist. An adult patient and mother of 2 children with HAE also shared her life experience with HAE as both a mother and a patient. The webinar covered how to recognise the symptoms, when to suspect HAE, diagnosis, treatments, how to manage crises, and the importance of timely and early diagnosis.
