AAPIDP held the 1st Meeting of Adult Patients and Families with PID
AAPIDP held the 1st Meeting of Adult Patients and Families with PID at the Carlos Durand General Acute Care Hospital in the city of Buenos Aires on September 6th, which was attended by more than 40 participants. The association welcomed everyone with a presentation of its activities and services, followed by several talks on the current situation, access to diagnosis, and treatment, led by Dr. Diego Fernández Romero, head of the Immunology Department. We also had a presentation on the links from a psychosocial perspective, led by Lic. Melisa Sagreras. Afterwards, we shared a coffee break and finally concluded with a space for collective reflection and next steps for the AAPIDP community.
On Saturday, October 4th, AAPIDP held the 1st Meeting on Primary Immunodeficiencies in Adults and Children at the Alejandro Posadas National Hospital in the Province of Buenos Aires. We received approximately 65 people. We opened the event with a welcome from AAPIDP, introducing our activities and services, and providing training on rights and access. Next, the head of the Immunology Section, Dra. Flavia Caputo, introduced her staff. Dra Romina Labur spoke about moments of change, moments of care, and transition. Dra. Daiana Espantoso also discussed vaccines in life with PIDs. Lic. Julieta Rodriguez gave the final presentation on Nutrition: simple steps to feel better. After sharing a delicious coffee, we enjoyed a panel of patients who shared their testimonies, led by Dra Leila Ferreyra Mufarregue and Dr Gustavo Vijoditz. We closed the event with a few questions to the medical panel.
