10th IPOPI EU PID Forum focusing on diagnosis

IPOPI is pleased to announce that the 10th IPOPI EU PID Forum will take place on November 22 in the European Parliament and will be hosted by Member of the European Parliament (MEP) José Inácio Faria (EPP, Portugal).
The 10th IPOPI EU PID Forum will address a crucial issue for primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) and for rare diseases, the timely and accurate diagnosis of the conditions,  under the motto ‘Tackling the diagnostic odyssey in rare diseases through ERNs: The Case of PIDs’.
One of the key factors for successful and timely diagnosis of rare diseases’ patients and for PID patients is medical awareness of the conditions. The 10th IPOPI EU PID Forum will focus on how Europeans Reference Networks (ERNs) can be used to optise diagnosis in the EU.

European Reference Networks

The European Reference Networks (ERNs), are a project launched by the European Commission with the support of medical societies and patients, to build European networks on different types of rare diseases. PIDs are represented within the European Reference Network on immunodeficiency, autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases (RiTA) where Johan Prevot is a member of the Steering Committee. The 10th IPOPI EU PID Forum will explore ways on how ERNs can contribute to a better rare disease diagnosis.
