IPOPI family growing – the Philippines and Paraguay

We are delighted to announce that two new patient organisations, from the Philippines and Paraguay, have recently been accepted as IPOPI associate member organisations this year.

Following the IPOPI Patients & Doctors meeting in Manila, the Philippine PID patients and parents have formed a patient group, the Philippine Patient Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies, PhilPOPI. The organisation was accepted as an associate member by the IPOPI Board in January 2017 and is working getting their registration formalised in the country.

The newest addition to IPOPI membership, Paraguay, was recently formalised and has already started spreading awareness of PIDs in the country. The Association of parents of children and adults with primary immunodeficiency of Paraguay, APANID, was accepted as an IPOPI associate member during the IPOPI Board Meeting in March 2017.

Both National Associate Member Organisations will be entitled to apply for full membership at the next IPOPI General Assembly which will be held during the ESID-IPOPI-INGID meeting in Lisbon 2018.
